Sun to Thu 10 am – 8 pm
The fastest way to reach us is by phone at (240) 413-1255. Our office is at 28 Jonathan St, Hagerstown, MD 21740, and office hours are Sunday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you reach voicemail, leave your name, a number, and a good time to call back and we will return the message during office hours.
If you would rather not be reached at a particular number or would prefer we not leave a voicemail, tell us when you first make contact and we will note it in your record.
New patients begin with a psychiatric evaluation. It is a longer appointment than a routine follow-up, because the aim is a full picture rather than a quick impression: your symptoms and when they began, your medical and psychiatric history, medications you have tried and how each went, and what you want treatment to change.
When you call, it helps to have ready:
Appointments are available at our Hagerstown office and by secure telehealth anywhere in Maryland. Telehealth suits patients with transportation or scheduling constraints, those living outside Washington County, and anyone for whom leaving the house is part of what treatment needs to address. Many patients combine the two. Tell us which you prefer when you call, and it can be changed later.
We see patients in person from Hagerstown, Williamsport, Smithsburg, Boonsboro, Funkstown, and the surrounding Washington County communities. Through telehealth we serve patients across Maryland, including Frederick, Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Baltimore.
Our practice treats depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, schizophrenia, insomnia, chronic stress, and substance use concerns, through medication management and counseling. If you are unsure whether your situation fits, call and ask — if we are not the right service, we will point you toward one that is.
Primary care practices, therapists, schools, and community organizations are welcome to contact the office directly about referrals or about community education sessions for their staff or members.
Our office is not a crisis service and messages are not monitored around the clock. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For urgent mental health support at any hour, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. If you are an established patient with an urgent clinical concern during office hours, call the main line and say so when you reach us.
Availability changes week to week. Call the office and ask — if we cannot see you within a reasonable window, we would rather tell you and point you elsewhere than have you wait on us.
Ask when you call and have your card handy. We will confirm what applies to your plan and explain any self-pay options before you book, so there are no surprises at the first visit.
A family member can call with general questions and to ask about the process. To schedule and share clinical information we will need to speak with the patient directly, unless you hold legal authority to act for them.
That is a reasonable place to start from, and it is a good reason to book an evaluation. The point of the first appointment is to establish what is happening. If the answer is that you do not need what we offer, we will say so and help you find what you do need.
