Positive Pathway and Wellness Center

Positive Pathways and Wellness Center offers in-person therapy in downtown Hagerstown for adults, adolescents and children. Our nurse practitioners are trained psychotherapists who use structured, evidence-based treatments focused on real, measurable progress.

Conditions we treat with therapy

Depression

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), including behavioral activation and cognitive restructuring, to lift mood, rebuild routines and prevent relapse.

Anxiety

CBT and gradual exposure for generalized worry, panic attacks, social anxiety and specific fears.

Trauma and PTSD

Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) for children and teens from age 6, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for teens and adults.

OCD

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard psychotherapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Our approach

Therapy at Positive Pathways is active and collaborative. Goals are set together at the start, sessions build practical skills, and progress is reviewed regularly. For children and teens, parents and caregivers are part of the process so that new skills carry over at home and at school.

What to expect

  • The first visit is 60 minutes and ends with a clear, shared treatment plan.
  • Sessions are usually weekly or every other week early in treatment.
  • Same-week appointments are often available for new patients.
  • Evening hours available.

Insurance

We accept most major commercial insurance plans and Maryland Medicaid. It is worth checking with the plan about any referral or authorization rules before the first visit.
